# Objective

To protect and enhance native habitat and discourage the planting and spread of noxious weeds.

# Summary

Better practice is awarded where all environmental weeds — including Weeds of National Significance and declared noxious weeds — are actively managed or removed from the subdivision.

Note that under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1987 (CaLP Act), landowners are legally required to manage declared noxious weeds. Applicants should also check for any relevant local laws that may apply in their council area.

# Documentation & evidence required

  • Landscape Masterplan: Areas for environmental weed removal marked on plans. Provide a statement from a qualified professional that identifies target species and proposed management and / or removal techniques, including whether supervised removal is required.
