To create compact neighbourhoods that are oriented around easy walking distances to activity centres, schools and community facilities, public open space and public transport.
To allow easy movement through and between neighbourhoods for all people.
# Summary
Better practice is awarded where at least 95% of dwellings are within 400 metres of a public park or open space, measured in a straight line (‘as the crow flies’). In low-density areas, an alternative approach may be accepted if it aligns with the intent of the standard.
